Photo Books are the new way to ScrapBook. Unfortunately, I was never one of those mothers that took the time to make cute scrapbook pages for every special event in my family's lives. I wish I was patient and talented enough to take the time, because when a scrapbooker is really into scrapbooking, their work is INCREDIBLE. I, on the other hand, know how to put pictures in 4x6 sleeves very well. My mother-in-law showed me her great trick of printing out labels to stick on the back with all of the information for that picture. However, I have a huge stack of pictures waiting to be put into photo albums. I keep saying I'll do that someday, and there they sit months later! My daughter just turned 2 and the most recent pictures in our photo album are of when she was only weeks old. My mother is a photographer so it's not like we don't have pictures of the kids...and it's not like I never take pictures... It's just this digital world we live in. Who takes time to print out pictures anymore when we have online photo albums?
With my mom's photography business I have taken the opportunity to try out a few photo book creating websites and software. I have been very pleased with the final outcomes. They take time, but not much being that I've created 8 books already. Photo books are so much fun to look back on. I have a photo book of my husband and my trip to Hawaii. What a great way to remember our trip! I've created photo books for my parents and their trips to Disneyland and Alaska. It is so fun to display these great books.
I have set a new goal. I want to create a book for each year of my children's lives. I have a bit of catching up to do, but it's something that I know I enjoy and I know I can do it. What fun memories they can have forever all nicely bound up in a photo book.
